The NSWRL Integral Energy Western Sydney Academy grew from a need to build on the development of Junior Rugby League in Sydney’s Greater West.
NRL Clubs, Parramatta, Penrith, Canterbury Bankstown and Wests Tigers together with the NRL, NSWRL and ARL Development worked collaboratively to establish the Academy to link activities at grass roots level across the region.
The Academy is based at CUA Stadium, Penrith with a dedicated staff of twelve (12) operating in the fields of Junior Rugby League, Research and Education, Indigenous Communities, Pacific Communities, Community Relations, Media, Special Projects and Administration.
The Academy is sponsored by Integral Energy, the major utility provider in Western Sydney.

- 45% of all junior rugby league players within NSW Rugby League are to be found in the Western Sydney footprint
