Imagine you could take all the knowledge and experience you have with you back to your young self – what advice would you give? Here is your opportunity to shape the career path of a student.

Be a volunteer for the BREED Career Mentoring program and be a career mentor and motivator for a small group of students or one-on-one. All we require is an hour a week for ten weeks.

So what is a career mentor?
A career mentor is any person who is in a position to point out to a ‘mentee’ their range of career options and possibilities, while at the same time encouraging them to take responsibility for their own career.

What does the BREED program involve?
• An in-school program commencing within schools in the Blacktown region in 2011
• 10 x 1hr weekly sessions
• Currently recruiting volunteers (must be over 21 years) to act as career mentors and give industry guidance to school aged students and help provide them with an insight into their potential career goal
• Free DET training provided to successful mentors

For more information on the program please contact Sandra Ongley at or 02 9853 3281
